Foreign ministers of Iran, Ireland explore ways to help avert humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian spoke on the phone with his Irish counterpart, Michael Martin, on Monday evening on the latest incidents in Palestine and the upsurge in the Zionist regime’s strikes against the civilians in Gaza. 

The Iranian foreign minister denounced the crimes committed by the Zionist regime by imposing a siege on Gaza to block sending humanitarian aid such as food, water and medicine into the enclave.

 He said the possibility of spreading of the war to other fronts is reaching the unavoidable stage, adding appropriate corridors should immediately be established to send water, food, pharmaceutical, and medical supplies to the people in Gaza.

 The Iranian foreign minister said between 300 and 700 civilians are killed every day, and the Zionist regime should immediately stop the terrorist acts against and its genocide of the Palestinian people.

 Meanwhile, the Irish foreign minister expressed concern over the spillover of tensions in the occupied territories, underlining that the international humanitarian rights should be observed in the war.

 He stated, “Ireland stresses on the need to create a humanitarian corridor to send aid and essential humanitarian supplies to the people of Gaza.”

 The Irish foreign minister said the aggravated tensions in the region causes concern and added that measures should be taken to immediately minimize tensions.

 Martin also sounded upbeat that Iran can put forward a useful initiative to reduce the scope of the crisis in the region by playing its unique role.
