Preliminary Report on the Damages Inflicted Upon Cultural Heritage and Museums in Iran as a result of unprovoked American-Zionist aggression

The attached is a file concerning the irreparable damage inflicted upon Iran’s ancient World Cultural Heritage sites as a result of unprovoked American-Zionist aggression, in contravention of the principles of international law, including the 1972 Convention concerning the Protection of cultural property, the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, as well as UN Security Council Resolution 2347 (2017) which recognizes the destruction of cultural heritage as a tactic of war to be underpinned as a crime against the heritage of humanity.

Throughout its long history, Iran has preserved invaluable monuments, museums, and historical sites that bear witness to the civilization, identity, and collective memory of its people. Unfortunately, in recent military aggression, many of these sites- including palaces, castles, and cultural centers- have been deliberately targeted and damaged, in clear violation of international law.
